Maintenance Supervisor

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Plans, organizes and supervises all functions related to facility maintenance associated with City owned buildings, including regularly scheduled preventative maintenance, repairs, upgrades, etc., to facilities and equipment to include electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and HVAC. Secures and monitors contractors and major projects related to facility maintenance. Manages a staff of maintenance technicians and custodial staff.

Part-Time Parks Maintenance Worker

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: This is a part time position generally working less than 19 or less hours each week on a continuing basis. Performs responsible skilled work in the repair and maintenance of city parks and related grounds; performs related duties as required.

Accounting Technician

GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK: Performs intermediate professional work in the preparation and maintenance of financial records; does related work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Finance Officer.

This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires stooping, reaching, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.

Firefighter-EMT

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs fire prevention and firefighting activities to protect and safeguard lives and property; performs related duties as
required.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: A Firefighter-EMT is responsible for performing hazardous tasks relating to fire suppression and prevention under
emergency conditions and providing first responder services. This position calls for the employee to be able to drive both support vehicles and fire engines. Orders of superiors must be executed promptly and efficiently. A Firefighter must readily become familiar with modern fire-fighting and life-saving methods and procedures after entrance on duty in order to perform tasks progressively increasing in difficulty. The work requires strict adherence to departmental rules and regulations. Superiors make assignments of specific tasks and indicate methods and procedures to be followed. Assignments may be made through either oral or written instructions. The work is closely inspected in progress and upon completion.

Automotive Mechanic

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs skilled work in the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles & equipment; performs related duties as required.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Responsible for maintenance of the City's automotive, truck and equipment fleet. The Automotive Mechanic must assure that vehicles are in proper working order and that maintenance is scheduled and performed routinely. This employee maintains an inventory of equipment and parts in order to perform maintenance and repair tasks. This employee makes determinations as to the safety of vehicles and when they are no longer viable for use. The work is performed under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Streets and Solid Waste and is reviewed for results obtained and consistency with standard practices.

Recreation Aide (part-time)

We are currently seeking to fill the position of Recreation Aide (part-time, fewer than 20 hours per week). The Recreation Aide conducts a variety of programs and activities in a recreation center or similar facility; performs related duties as required.

This position implements the programs and activities held at a recreation center including activities for youth and adults. This employee is also responsible for the maintenance of the facilities and assuring that the necessary equipment is available for patrons. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Recreation Program Supervisor.

Police Telecommunicator

We are currently seeking to fill the position of Police Communicator. The successful candidate performs communications and varied clerical work for the police function in the community; performs related duties as required. An employee in this class receives incoming routine and emergency calls, dispatches and maintains contact with police units, and calls other agencies for mutual aid as required. Operates dispatch equipment, computer terminal connected to the Division of Criminal Information (DCI) and the National Crime Information Center. Work also involves the performance of detailed record keeping, monitoring alarms and data entry of police reports. Work requires frequent public contact that requires tact, firmness and decisiveness and judgement in obtaining necessary information from people who are under stress and choosing appropriate courses of action.
