Hello good citizens,
This month the City of Mount Holly Water Treatment Plant was honored for exceeding drinking water standards for the year of 2015. The plant exceeded the goals as established by the Area Wide Optimization Program (AWOP).
The AWOP provides tools and approaches for drinking water systems to meet water quality optimization goals and provide an increased and sustainable level of public health protection to their consumers. AWOP goals are more stringent than the normal regulations involve with monitoring drinking water systems. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is very supportive of State drinking water agencies implementing AWOP.
The Mount Holly Water Treatment Plant has been a high performer when it comes to being recognized for producing a high quality water source for our citizens. The employees at the plant take their jobs and responsibilities very seriously. The employees can be satisfied in knowing that our citizens can be confident in using water in various applications simply due to their work.
On behalf of the City of Mount Holly I would like to thank the following employees for their part in achieving the recent AWOP recognition: Gina Miller (Acting ORC), Jeff Womack (Day Shift Operator), Zac Dyer (Day Shift Operator), Madison Hawkins (Night Shift Operator), Mike Martin (Night Shift Operator), Heath Nanney ( Operator Trainee) and Chuck King (Intern, Water Quality).
I hope our citizens are as proud of our employees as I am and will join me in congratulating them for performing so well and bringing notoriety to Mount Holly. I can speak for all employees by saying that we do not lose sight of our responsibility to uphold the health, safety and welfare of our citizens.
Thank you all for this opportunity to communicate with you this month. Here's all of you a great month of June.
