The mission of the Solid Waste Division is to provide the Citizens of Mount Holly with an affordable refuse collection service that disposes of residential solid waste in a sanitary, timely and convenient manner.
On average the City of Mount Holly collects 4,273 tons of household garbage each year from 5,300 homes and businesses. The City currently operates with several trucks that deliver a combined monthly average of 69 loads of garbage to the Gaston County Landfill located in Dallas, North Carolina.
The City of Mount Holly's objective is to provide you, our citizens, with the best possible management of solid waste, our common problem.
The City of Mount Holly recycling services are provided by the City's Streets and Solid Waste Department employees.
Please remember to recycle all materials that are compatible. The more we recycle, the less we pay in landfill fees, ultimately saving the City money. Plus, it's great for the environment!
